Biography

Jennifer Estelle Rose was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1978 as Jennifer Carter where she remained until her graduation from Sapulpa High School. She went on to study bassoon performance with Richard Ramey at the University of Arkansas where she was introduced to composition. Mrs. Rose studied composition with Dr. James Greeson for one and a half years. After marrying in March of 2001, Jennifer went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.
Mrs. Rose earned a Master of Music Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Composition from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied with Dr. Michael Rothkopf and Kenneth Frazelle. Mrs. Rose's repertoire includes works from orchestral scores to solo works with electronic accompaniment. In 2005, Jennifer was announced the winner of the Foundation Orchestra Association Third Annual International Composition Competition. An arrangement of her new orchestra score Lost War was premiered by the Foundation Orchestra in Reno, NV in October 2005.
Currently, Mrs. Rose resides in Grove, Oklahoma and is the band director for grades 5 through 12 in Wyandotte Public Schools.
